Teddy bear’s picnic raises money for ‘Mind’ at Grasshoppers Day Nursery
The sun was shining in St Albans as children and their families from Grasshoppers Day Nursery gathered to help raise vital funds for mental health charity, ‘Mind’.
At a local park, children from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery in York Road danced, played games and enjoyed a teddy bear’s picnic lunch with parents and practitioners, helping to raise a grand total of £235 for the cause.
Grasshoppers Day Nursery Team Leader, Jodie Smart explained;
“We all had a wonderful time at the picnic and it proved a brilliant opportunity for parents to socialise with each other. We aim to make a real difference when it comes to supporting worthy causes and Mind is reaching out to about 14 million people a year in the UK who are experiencing a mental health problem.”
Grasshoppers has adopted Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales which offers specialised services, advice and support to those living with a mental health problem, for a year-long fundraising drive.
Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Money raised will fund the charity’s work including the Mind Infoline and campaigning to secure a better deal for everybody who experiences a mental health problem.
