Supporting keyworkers at Westwood Day Nursery

From beauty items to sweet treats and cupboard essentials, thoughtful practitioners from Westwood Day Nursery in Coventry have been creating gift hampers to deliver to the heroic keyworkers on their local cancer ward.

At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on Westwood Business Park, colleagues have been collecting the self-care items in order to show their appreciation for the continued dedication of the doctors and nurses through the coronavirus outbreak. Children from the setting also showcased their creativity by making artwork and poems to display across the ward.

Westwood Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Michelle Packeer explained;

“We have been thinking a lot recently about how we can help to support inspirational people in the community, and as Cancer Research UK is our charity partner for the year, we thought this would be extremely fitting. It is a cause that is close to the hearts of so many, including myself as I lost my dad 6 months ago to the disease. We have been so delighted with the amount of donations we received, and the hospital colleagues were incredibly grateful.”
