Superhero Day at Woodlands Day Nursery
Children and staff from Woodlands Day Nursery in Barnet have unleashed their superhero alter-egos, all whilst raising money for ‘Mind’.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery in Orchard Road, an array of show stopping costumes were exhibited by children and practitioners, before exploring the characteristics of each superhero and their associated powers.
Delighted children were also able to role play using their very own ‘Batmobile’ which was created and decorated by Nursery Practitioners.
Woodlands Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Rosie O’Sullivan explained;
“We love an occasion to dress up at nursery, and everybody made such a brilliant effort with their costumes. This was a great opportunity to discuss emotions and link it to some of the superhero characters, for example The Hulk and his anger. We were also able to raise £35 to add to our total collection for Mind in the process.”
Woodlands has adopted Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales which offers specialised services, advice and support to those living with a mental health problem, for a year-long fundraising drive.
