Spreading joy at River View Day Nursery
Children from River View Day Nursery in Hertford have been showcasing their creativity with a series of activities in the hopes of bringing joy to others.
At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery on North Road, children created a colourful rainbow banner with paints to thank the wonderful NHS staff who are currently caring for coronavirus patients. The rainbow has become symbolic during the outbreak, with households up and down the country displaying pictures in their windows as a mark of solidarity.
For the children of non-key workers who are not currently attending the setting, dedicated practitioners have been uploading resources that can be enjoyed at home. From videos of staff telling stories and nursery rhymes to birthday cards for those celebrating birthdays, everyone is included.
River View Day Nursery Team Leader, Susan Moses explained;
“We’ve had a wonderful time making our banners, as well as decorating rainbow cakes to go with it. All of our remaining children are those of key worker families so we thought this would be a lovely way of lifting their spirits at pick up time. We are really missing all of our other children, and would like to say a huge thank you to all the key workers in these difficult times.”
