Pirate Day at Nene Valley Day Nursery

Bandanas and eye patches were just some of the accessories worn by delighted children from Nene Valley Day Nursery in Cliftonville as they dressed up for a special themed ‘Pirate Day’ at the setting.

At the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery in Northampton General Hospital Complex, children enjoyed spending time ‘walking the plank’, exploring a specially created pirate ship and finding hidden treasure in the garden, all whilst raising money for mental health charity, ‘Mind’.

Nene Valley Deputy to Area Manager, Jade Shillington explained;

“The children love an opportunity to dress up and showcase their creativity, so to do this whilst raising money for such a worthy cause is fantastic. We are very pleased to be adding £68 to our total collection for Mind from our day of activities, which will help to reach out to around 14 million people in the UK”.

Along with the 42 other Childbase Partnership settings, Nene Valley has adopted Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales which offers specialised services and support to those living with a mental health problem, for a year-long fundraising drive. As of August, a total of £91,000 had been raised collectively by the nurseries for the cause.
