Halloween charity fund-raiser at Windmill Hill Day Nursery in Swindon
Parents joined their children and Windmill Hill Day Nursery staff in Swindon for a spooky charity fund-raiser which put over £168 in the Alzheimer’s Society charity coffers.
Taking the fun outside normal hours at the day nursery on the Windmill Business Park in Whitehill Way, the first ever Halloween party complete with disco, pumpkin carving and biscuit decorating is set to become an annual event as Manager Lora Worthington explained.
“What makes this event even more special is that the idea came from our Parent Forum and everybody got behind it, dressing up and joining in the fun. Sharing the magic we experience every day in nursery with parents and raising money for a great cause is very hard to beat,” she said, praising everybody for their generous support.
Over 65 children attended bringing siblings and family members to join in the fun which included a pumpkin hunt in the garden, spooky face painting and the sale of Halloween treats.
All funds raised go to the Alzheimer’s Society which Windmill Hill Day Nursery has adopted for a year-long charity fund-raising drive.
