Green Park Day Nursery children plant trees in the community
Young environmental enthusiasts from Green Park Day Nursery in Reading were delighted to lend landscapers a hand as they helped to plant trees in the local area.
The saplings, which were sourced through the National Trust, were planted opposite the day nursery in Lime Square with the help of pre-schoolers, who assisted in digging holes for the trees and filling them back over with soil once finished.
Green Park Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Lisa Manston explained;
“The children had a brilliant time planting the trees and were really engaged in the activity. Not only does this link into our ongoing Eco-Schools work, but will be a lovely lasting legacy for the pre-schoolers once their time at nursery has come to an end.”
Green Park Day Nursery holds a prestigious ‘Green Flag’ award, the top accolade in the internationally recognised Eco-Schools scheme for exceptional environmental awareness and conservation efforts.
