Easter activities raise £300 for Mind at Willows Day Nursery
Children from Willows Day Nursery in Stoke Mandeville are celebrating Easter with a fun filled activity morning, all whilst raising money for the mental health charity, ‘Mind’.
After spending time with two bunnies named Percy and Fudge and a chicken named Terrance from the local petting zoo, delighted children took part in an Easter egg hunt where parents joined to help solve the clues.
Children were also able to showcase their creativity by taking part in Easter arts and crafts like egg decorating and clay modelling, whilst parents purchased tickets for the grand raffle featuring 40 prizes.
Willows Day Nursery Charity Representative, Kayleigh King said;
“The activity morning was a brilliant success and we are thrilled to have raised £300 for such a deserving charity. The children had a wonderful time and were especially excited to have met the Easter bunnies.”
Willows has adopted Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales which offers specialised services, advice and support to those living with a mental health problem, for a year-long fundraising drive.
“We aim to make a real difference when it comes to supporting worthy causes and Mind is reaching out to about 14 million people a year in the UK who are experiencing a mental health problem,” said Tracey Brett, Nursery Manager.
Mind provides advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. Money raised will fund the charity’s work including the Mind Infoline and campaigning to secure a better deal for everybody who experiences a mental health problem.
