Autumn fundraising at Maples Day Nursery
A Halloween dress up day and Harvest Festival celebrations are just some of the ways that children and practitioners from Maples Day Nursery in Winchester are raising money for mental health charity, ‘Mind’.
After making their own bread, jam and popcorn to sell, children from the Ofsted-rated ‘Outstanding’ Day Nursery in Hatherley Road invited their parents to join in the Harvest festivities, where they sang themed songs together and enjoyed hot chocolate around the fire outside.
Following this, Maples Day Nursery marked Halloween with a day of themed activities, including a spider hunt and witches potion making in the garden, whilst delighted children and staff proudly displayed their spookiest costumes.
Maples Day Nursery Manager, Sian Elliott explained;
“We love to mark special occasions throughout the year, and to do this whilst raising money for such a worthy cause is wonderful. We are delighted to be donating a total of £98.00 to Mind from our autumn events, which will go towards funding crucial services such as the telephone support line.”
Maples Day Nursery has adopted Mind, the leading mental health charity in England and Wales which offers specialised services, advice and support to those living with a mental health problem, for a year-long fundraising drive.
