About Us

People are the cornerstone of this employee-owned company whether they are six weeks old and being cared for in one our nurseries throughout the South of England, or the dedicated professionals committed to delivering excellence every day.

By focusing on 'the individual' since 1989, The Childbase Partnership has become one of the country's leading child care providers with an impressive list of Ofsted rated 'Outstanding' nurseries; National Training and Business awards and recognised as one of the best UK companies to work for by The Sunday Times.

These awards, combined with company investment in each employee's personal and professional growth, and initiatives that recognise and reward excellence, ensures we recruit and retain the best; maintaining the highest possible standards of service to the children in our care.

Each nursery, from Bath in the West to Nottingham and Cambridge in the East, is as individual as the children it cares for and the community it serves, but all are committed to a child-centred approach.

Following a set of principles linked to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), our innovative learning through play programmes are designed to nurture each child's talents; support weaknesses and establish the path to formalised learning.

A fully inclusive service, each nursery, and the company as a whole, is committed to respecting and celebrating ethnic heritage, social and economic backgrounds, gender and varying physical and learning abilities.

Rigorous review procedures ensure that the highest possible standards are maintained at all times and all avenues are explored in a bid to increase our understanding and knowledge. The company is proud to be associated with Investors in Diversity which operates an accreditation system and provides valuable advice and support in this area.

The same approach is applied to training; another company priority. The Childbase Partnership has four National Training Awards in recognition of its commitment to, and excellence in, the provision of high quality external and in-house training programmes.

In addition to bespoke training days at our Newport Pagnell headquarters throughout the year, the company has a field-based training team, regional directors and area managers providing support and training in the individual nurseries.

In demanding the very best from each employee the company offers impressive pay and benefits - Childbase was a finalist in the last Employee Benefits Awards - and  rewards outstanding contributions through a range of innovative schemes.

Employees, who share in the profits generated by their work, are also encouraged to become owners with initiatives like 'Buy one share get one free' and have an active role in the company decision-making process through The Partnership Council of elected representatives.

With an emphasis on informed decision-making and collective responsibility, these representatives ensure that polices are workable in the nurseries and that the company remains successful, sustainable and ethical.
